1064-C Red Diamond Calcite / 4 Crones

Glassy, gemmy diamond shaped geometries otherwise known as rhombohedrons and or scalenohedrons are combined with iron oxide hematoid inclusions, giving them a rusty-red coating on portions of these spectacular Red Diamond Calcites. The locals call this Red Diamond Calcite because it resembles the clarity of diamonds. 4 Crones specimens are stunning, lustrous and clear as water crystals filled with unbelievable dimension even on the “inside” that shoots out rainbows and other worldly colors of light. Balanced with the glassy clarity, iron oxide inclusions inner and outer accentuate the diamond patterning in matte and glossy finishes. On top of all that, these crystals fluoresce with a deep pink, orange color. Even throughout the day flashes of color and light jump out to remind you they ARE in your collection, and then we hear ourselves say “Did you see that”!!

Our specimens are from Daye County in the Hubei Province of China.

Calcite is found widely around the planet. It occurs in a great variety of shapes and colors, and it constitutes a major portion of many of the earth's rocks.  While this may seem to make it "pedestrian".  It is not.  Not only is calcite used for many other purposes, from construction to traditional Chinese stone medicine, but it also presents in beautiful arrays of artistic and dazzling specimens…like ours and hopefully soon yours.
